China Dominates Global Mining and Industrial Equipment Exports

China’s PMI Indicators Point to Uneven Momentum and Rising Cost Pressures in 2026

Accounting for 25% of exports among the world’s top 30 mining and industrial equipment exporters, China is the only economy with scale across every major equipment category, making it central to global mining supply chains.

China has become the indispensable supplier of mining and industrial equipment to the global economy. In 2024, it exported USD 386 billion of mining and industrial equipment, around 25% of exports among the world’s 30 largest exporting economies and more than Germany and the U.S. combined.

While Germany, the U.S., Japan, Italy and South Korea remain important suppliers in specialised segments, none matches China’s overall scale.

China’s advantage also extends beyond size. It is the only major exporter with substantial capabilities across every stage of the mining equipment value chain, from mining machinery and materials handling systems to electrical equipment, processing technologies and construction equipment.

This breadth makes China a genuine one-stop manufacturing base for mining supply chains, whereas most competing exporters remain concentrated in specific technologies or product niches.
