Role Overview

ANDAMAN PARTNERS is launching an annual internship programme to develop young professionals, offering meaningful international learning opportunities across the chosen markets where we operate.

For the first intake of 2025, three six-week internships are available for three professionals, one each in Australia, China and South Africa. The internships will commence in June or July 2025.

The interns will work with our international team and across the ANDAMAN Advisory and ANDAMAN Trade businesses with key tasks as follows:

  • Data and information research and analysis.
  • Writing incisive presentations and documents.
  • Support on strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Marketing content support.
Core Responsibilities
  • Research, analysis, synthesis, report writing and editing, etc.
    • Desk and field research: Gather data, information, external research and other inputs across different sources.
    • Analysis of data, information and sourced input to arrive at logical insights:
      • Strategic analysis of, e.g., economic data and trends, sectoral/industry developments, value chain analysis, competitive landscaping, competitor analysis, customer analysis, channel strategies, financial analysis, strategic mapping, cluster analysis, marketing strategies, company competitive positioning and company financials, etc.
      • Quantitative data analysis, spreadsheets and business modeling (in Excel).
    • Identifying and prioritizing key issues for further analysis and rigorous deep-dive assessment.
    • Synthesis of overall research findings and analysis to develop holistic and digestible key messages/insights (across industries and sub-disciplines).
    • Final report construction: Design, development, integration, editing, polishing.
  • Client report design, construction and editing/refining (in Word/PowerPoint).
Requirements

ANDAMAN PARTNERS welcomes candidates aged 18 to 26 with some of the expertise outlined below and additional skills that may be useful for various project and company outputs:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, statistics and related fields, or current study.
  • Work experience in strategy, consulting, data analysis and other related areas would be a bonus.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills. Proficiency in additional software related to data analysis, design and visualization, video and audio production and editing etc., would be a bonus.
  • Excellent communication and writing/presentation skills with a structured thought process.
  • Ability to handle pressure, work with tight deadlines and multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to work in teams with colleagues from diverse cultures and backgrounds and time zones.
  • Must have English proficiency.
  • Chinese research experience and capability would be a bonus.
  • Keen interest in and knowledge of Asia and Emerging Markets.
  • Solid functional knowledge of strategy, economics, statistics, consulting, trade, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.
